Founded by third-generation farmers, CODA Farm Technologies is a growing agricultural technology company bringing cloud-based automation to agricultural irrigation. Its first product, the FarmHQ platform, lets farmers use their smartphone and an easy-to-install device to remotely monitor and control irrigation equipment to reduce emissions, cut water consumption, and save money and stress. FarmHQ is currently being used on mobile irrigation systems on farms across North America, and helped save 21,000,000 gallons of water in the 2021 summer irrigation season.

What you’ll do in the Director of Brand & Marketing role:

You will report to CODA’s Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for:

Managing and Enhancing the Company and Product Brands:

  • Expand and manage a compelling and unique brand and image that attracts customers and strategic partners to our products and services
  • Develop a multi-faceted brand strategy and architecture that combines CODA’s focuses on clean technology and improving farmers’ day-to-day lives
  • Gather and analyze information to identify new markets and customers, demand for products and services, and efficacy of existing marketing campaigns and strategies


Developing A Coordinated Marketing Strategy:

  • Guide the formulation of marketing strategies, budgets, and processes appropriate to an organization of CODA’s size
  • Collaborate with executive-level management to develop and set marketing goals and long-term plans to maximize overall efficiency and productivity
  • Conduct market research, sales forecasting, and strategic planning to assess and ensure the sale and profitability of products
  • Pioneer the use of digital marketing techniques to reach farmers in rural areas in the United States and internationally


Managing Day-to-Day Execution

  • Oversee creative vendor management, including contracting, invoicing, and payments
  • Make digital and in-print media buys to execute the marketing plan
  • Oversee the company’s SEO strategy and performance
  • Compose, develop, evaluate, and conduct training on marketing activities, strategies, and policies
  • Collaborate in development of new products and services


Tracking and Analyzing Marketing Success:

  • Provide the CEO and other stakeholders, including investors, with accurate analytics, data reporting, and forecasting at regular intervals
  • Develop and maintain appropriate KPIs to drive continuous innovation of our marketing efforts



  • Set a strong example of culture and leadership to enhance the whole team
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can take initiative in developing relationships with our investors, vendors, team members, and potential employees
  • Has a self-directed and proactive approach to work
  • Cares deeply about helping make agricultural irrigation more efficient around the world
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of principles and methods used to promote, display, and sell technology products and services


Qualifications for the role:

The qualifications we are looking for include:

  • Six or more years of experience in sales-focused marketing roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the innovation and creative to create brand new strategies that attract customers and succeed over the competition
  • Experience building marketing infrastructure based on industry best practices
  • Knowledge of digital marketing campaigns, including SEO
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience


Other background or experiences that are a plus include:

  • Startup experience
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing automation

  • Equity Range: 0.25% – 0.75%
  • Annual Base Salary Range: $100,000 – $130,000
  • Annual Performance Bonuses Available
